What about Tankless installation?
Is the Titan difficult to install? Can I install it myself?
The installation of your Titan Tankless is pretty straight forward and easily completed by a professional in a short period of time. It is recommended that a professional do the installation due to the electrical nature of our products. Each of our Titans comes with an instruction sheet and an additional helpful set up diagram. Installation mounting brackets are included. Please check out our installation page here.
Does the Titan require venting? Can it be installed outside?
No, the Titan requires no venting so this makes installation much easier. You just need 12" of clearance on the top and bottom of the unit. It can be installed almost anywhere indoors and can easily be placed where your existing tank was. It is not recommended that the Titan be installed outdoors unless it is housed in some form of protective cover. As with all electrical appliances it must be protected from the rain and elements.
Can the Titan be used with plastic or PVC pipe?
Yes, the Titan can be used with, PVC, PVX or any
similar tubing material and perform well.
The only requirement is that you use approximately 36 inches of copper tubing at
the inlet and outlet to act as a buffer between the tankless heater and your
plastic tubing. When using these types of plumbing a "Tankless pressure relief
only" valve is recommended.
Can the Titan be used if I have hard, mineral or well water?
Yes, the Titan
units are extremely resistant to hard/mineral water. The unit is designed with
incoloy heating elements thatare housed inside rugged copper/brass chambers. The
use of incoloy elements makes our tankless water heaters durable and resistant
to mineral deposits and hard water build up. Incoloy is an industrial-grade
nickel-chromium heat-resistant alloy. This alloy provides an exceptional level
of high-temperature corrosion resistance in oxidation, sulfidation,
carburization and nitridation environments. In addition to thermal stability
characteristics required to prevent thermal distortion and embrittlement, it
exhibits excellent stress-rupture strengths. These characteristics, along with a
high resistance to carburization and cyclic oxidation, make this alloy the
material of choice for many severe applications.
The Titan works with well-water systems. Pressure variations under 20 PSI are
generally tolerated by the units. The pump pressure gauge should not vary more
than 20 PSI or it could impair the Titans performance. The Titan is designed to
operate in the range of 5-120 PSI.
The Titans are designed to operate within a range of 5-150 PSI. It is
recommended that your pump be set to run at 60- 80 PSI. If you don't already
have one, a back flow preventer is considered a must.
Do I need a pressure relief valve?
A pressure relief valve will only be required if
you are using plastic (PVC, PVX) type of tubing. A Tankless pressure relief only
valve is the type you will need and not the standard tank type valve. We do have
these valves available on our site for purchase.
How
do I adjust my hot water settings? What is listed on the Titan display screen?
The display on the unit will cover Voltage,
Amperage and KW. (not all models have display)
The red and blue buttons raise and lower the temperature. The hot water MUST BE
RUNNING at the time of adjustment and you can see the changes on the display.

What are the electrical requirements for my Titan? Breaker size? Wire?
Each Titan has different electrical requirements so
please refer to our product pages and review the specs to see if the Titan is
right for you. The Titan SCR2 N-120, which is the most popular and best selling
unit, draws a maximum of 54 amps. Meaning, it will consume a maximum of 54 amps
at peak power output, only as necessary. This unit would perform optimally with
the use of a 60 amp breaker, and a #6 AWG wire gauge and would be the code
requirement for many states. The more powerful SCR-4 line will require a two
breaker set up. Please refer to your specific Titan model to see the exact
specifications and if the Titan is compatible for your location. We also now
provide all the electrical and plumbing components to assist you with the
installation process.
Can I install my Tankless heater in a boat? RV? trailer?
The Titan can pretty much be installed anywhere there is the available power to support the unit. If you check out our projects page you will see where several Titans were installed on a yacht. Keep in mind that if your specialty project does not have standard 220v you are somewhat limited as the N-10 model is the only one that will support 110v and provides point of use warm water only.
